DURION BDC - 7" PCAP Bus Driver Console

OVERVIEW:

The DURION™ BDC is designed to compliment the DURION™ BUS-PC, adding a rugged Bus Driver Console (BDC) to the system. This BDC is an integrated display unit, combining an automotive grade 7" LCD display, a Projected Capacitive Touchscreen, Capacitive Function/Pushbutton keys and an internal power supply. The LCD element is optically bonded to the hardened capacitive touchscreen glass. The Pushbuttons are included in the touchglass, logically operating as individual true keyboard keys created through the PCAP touchcontroller firmware. The durable capacitive touchscreen and non-mechanical buttons are sensitive and fully maintenance free. The surface of the BDC is continuous glass, making cleaning of the surface easy.

The BDC connects with the BUS-PC with DuroLink II, a fully digital serialized interface, which combines LCD-native 18-bit LVDS data with power and a buffered I2C interface. This technology replaces the traditional bundle of power, VGA and USB cables and their connectors with a single shielded CAT6 cable and a sealed M12 connector. The Duragon Systems BDC is built into a rigid CNC-machined aluminum frame providing ideal protection for the PCAP glass, which is embedded and flush mounted into the frame creating a sealed IP65 construction. The rear side includes VESA75 mounting holes. External mechanical customization is possible to acommodate different mounting requirements.

DURION BUS-PC - Integrated Single Control Unit (SCU) for Buses

OVERVIEW:

The DURION™ BUS-PC is a rugged purpose-built fully integrated Vehicle Single Control Unit (SCU) targeting bus ITxPT and BIS16833 ITS-installations in connected Smart City scenarios. Built to comply with strict requirements of ARAI certification, this device optimally combines wired and wireless communication interfaces, peripherals, satellite and sensor assisted navigation with a high efficiency multi-core 64-bit ARM processor. Designed in an ultra-compact “heavy duty” die-cast powder coated conduction cooled IP65 aluminium enclosure, the DURION BUS-PC includes two rugged “System Connectors” for all power, control and I/O, M12 X-coded connector for the digital display interface and locking TNC antenna connectors for cellular and GNSS antennas. The WiFi antenna is structural and part of the enclosure. The locking System Connectors simplify vehicle cable harness design.

The DURION BUS-PC has a wide input range (8-38VDc) PSU with a multi-stage EMC-filtering and input protection. The overvoltage protection will accept transients exceeding 100VDC and surge voltages up to +-2KV. The system includes a LiPO back-upo battery, which provides up to 4 hour autonomy with reduced fucntionality, compliant with AIS140 standards. A 32-bit system management coprocessor monitors the booting of the application processor, internal temperatures, system power rails and input voltage and currents as well as the charging of the internal battery. An ignition signal controls the systems's start-up and delayed power-off. A wide operating temperature range and IP65 ingress protection rating ensures reliable operation in arctic and tropical environments.

The DURION BUS-PC optimally balances integration and functionality. Basing on a 2GHz 6-core HW coprocessor accelerated ARM SOC, the DURION delivers outstanding computational performance with a low power consumption. Multiple cores can be used in parallel for video compression in real time. Apart from standard USB, RS232/485 Serial and Audio I/O the BUS-PC includes a full CAN 2.0 interface with J1939 protocol support, 4 or 8x Composite video Inputs, 4x 0-5/10V analogue inputs, as well as isolated 24VDC digital Inputs and open collector 24VDC isolated digital outputs. The display interface bases on Duragon's digital serialized DuroLinkII interface, which combines display power, PCAP touchcreen interface and 18-bit LVDS into a single CAT6 twisted pair cable. A high speed soldered down eMMC FLASH HDD is used for OS, application and data storage. An optional internal SATA Flash HDD can be included for applications which require NVR fucntionmality defined in BIS16833. The BUS-PC is ideal for systems that require video recording and storage combined with advanced multi-technology wireless communication, always-on vehicle location and onboard system control.

DG-DURION-ER02 – Vehicle Edge Controller

OVERVIEW:

The DURION-ER02 is a compact stand-alone high reliability AVL/AVM gateway for bus and tram applications. The Quad Core LINUX application processor is available with either WRT or YOCTO Linux, depending on the target application.

The compact footprint makes the ER02 ideal for upgrade programs, which require high accuracy DR-assisted vehicle positioning, cellular connectivity as well as interfacing to the J1939 or MVB vehicle bus. A CAT1 or CAT4 MiniPCIe LTE modem provides cellular connectivity, supporting both eSIM as well as standard uSIM.

The GNSS solution is based on the high accuracy LC29H receiver, which supports operation in both UDR and ADR modes. External Wheel-tick and Direction signals can be used in ADR mode. These signals have a wide 0-30DC Input range. The ADR/UDR based positioning can reliably navigate underground or in poor satellite signal conditions assisted by the IMU based sensor data.

MVB connectivity bases on the Duagon D013 module, which provides a dual redundant isolated EMD interface. The standalone MVB interface connects to the application processor’s serial port.

A build option to support Stereo Audio is available. The Line level Stereo output uses the connector pins dedicated for the second CAN port and the differential MIC signals occupy the Wheel-Tick and Direction signals. These options are mutually exclusive due to pin sharing.

5G MIMO Railway Routers

The Duragon Railway routers can support multiple wireless interfaces, including 802.11ax WiFi and the latest 5G modems. Entry level routers feature a single 5G modem, while multi-modem routers may include up to 2 independent multi-sim 5G modems. The Duragon DURION series routers base on a multiprocessor architecture, which enables isolation of different tasks to different processors. The Quad Core Linux application processor executes the client software, while the networking processor is dedicated to the routing functions. The powerful Mediatek MT7621A networking processor and its Open Source WRT Linux enables project specific functions to be included. The core router is managed using a console I/O interface of through any of its ports using LUCY Web interface.

This combination of multiple processors isolates Linux software development to the application environment, while the router functions and 5G management is transparent to the application. The router processor and application processor connect with an internal Ethernet interface.

Peripherals and sensors connect to the application processor, including the RS-485 and RS-232 serial ports, Audio I/O, accelerometer etc. The system management CORTEX M0 controller is responsible for the system management and monitoring as well as the CAN bus data parsing.

The figure below illustrates a typical coach 5G-router modernisation solution.

PID

The 5G modem supports the latest global sub-6GHz bands with 4x4 MIMO (DL) and 2X2 MIMO (UL). Connection quality, modem and link status can be monitored. The modem can access two SIM, where both soldered down eSIM and socketed uSIM are supported. The DURION DR01 can support two wireless interfaces on M.2 sockets, two 5G modems or one 5G modem and a 802.11ax high speed WiFi.

An UDR-assited GNSS subsystem ensures high accuracy train location even in challenging signal environments and in covered station or depot areas. Suitable railway certified antennas are available from Duragon.

The Duragon routers have a wide input range (9-38VDc) railway-class PSU with a multi-stage EMC-filter and input protection. The overvoltage protection will clamp transients exceeding 100VDC and surge voltages up to +-2KV. A wide operating temperature range and an IP41 ingress protection rating ensures reliable operation in arctic and tropical environments.
