Bangalore - September 30, 2017 - Duragon Systems DURION Bus SCU specifically targets ITS integration in Smart-City scenarios. The DURION fully integarated BUS-PC has received a technology upgrade to further enahance its features and enable processor scaling. These upgrades include the integration of a new proprietary System Board which leverages a modular Qseven CPU. The new system board integrates a full-size industrial temperature range E3800-series Qseven CPU and 32-bit CORTEX operations coprocessor. The system now includes a new low EMI ultra-wide input voltage range 8-38VDC power supply as well as the latest technologies in EMC design and protection.

The navigation solution has been enhaced to include seamless GNSS+Sensor inertial navigation system which enables navigation in challenging urban conditions, and indoor/underground bus terminals.

A monitoring and system management microcontroller with advanced firmware enables "Emergency Mode" operation in case the main system or software in not functioning. This mode enables the microcontroller to take over critical funtions such as vehicle positioning, wirelsss communication over 3G/LTE as well as vehicle I/O. Furtermore, the microcontroller can report PC system failures to the OCC.

The Digital Display Interface supports DP or HDMI - backward compatibility is guaranteed with a VGA display interface option. The Ethernet Ports have been upgraded to support GBIT speed.

Basing on a fully proprietary design by DURAGON, the DURION is purpose-built to be compatible with the latest requirements of BUS ITS systems.

The DURION SCU (Single Control Unit) integrates a rugged INTEL® ATOM™ E3800 series processor with 2GB RAM and High speed MSATA SSD, 4-channel NTSC/PAL video recording, DP/HDMI/VGA-port, CAN, RS-232, RS-485, 2x USB 2.0, 2x Gigabit Ethernet, analogue inputs and isolated 24V DIO. Wireless interfaces include GNSS with accelerometer and gyroscope based inertial navigation, 802.11abgn WiFi, quad band 3G/LTE modem with bidirectional voice call support. The Audio I/O supports MIC input and HiFi-grade 2x10W stereo output for driving PIS speakers. Additionally the system supports a filtered and regulated switched +12VDc output for powering external devices such as sensors, cameras, displays etc.

The fanless and conduction cooled DURION SCU is built into a diecast aluminum enclosure to reach IP65 ingress protection grade and an operating temperature range of -20 to +80°C.
